As many of you have noticed, it's been a couple weeks since my last weekend wrap-up! And to those of you who have asked about them, I really loved hearing that you enjoy following along! However, after a couple months of the weekly updates I've decided to switch gears and rather than a update each Monday, there will be a monthly wrap-up and an occasional 'Life Lately' post to keep you up to date.
Some weekends around here are frankly just not as exciting as others and it's my goal to always keep my content interesting and new. Not to mention, with two kiddos running around it's always a challenge creating all the new content I want to share!
This summer is filled with so much travel and excitement for our family, I cannot wait to bring all of you along for the ride! I also have some exciting reviews coming up - starting today with Fabletics!
I was invited last night to the preview party of the new Fabletics store located in the Mall of America, for a chance to mingle with fellow activewear enthusiast, drink some bubbly, and bring home some exciting new product to review! My post a couple weeks ago on my workout must haves was so popular that I knew you ladies would be interested in a review of their VIP program and product!
So here's how Fabletics works - When you sign up for the VIP membership it gives you access to discount prices and your first outfit is only $25. This means your credit card information is on file and you can choose to either shop OR skip any month as long as I do it by the 5th of each month (put a reminder in your phone so it will be easy to remember). If you don’t shop or skip by the 5th, your credit card will be charged $49.95 on the 6th to be used as credit towards future purchases. This works seamlessly in store or online. You can still purchase clothing at full price in store if you're not part of the VIP program, or you can join at any time and redeem credits at any location and online.
Here is my outfit - I chose the Pryor Tank Reversible in navy and white for my top. I love how lightweight and stretchy it is, while still feeling like a nice high quality performance fabric. I was also immediately attracted to the reversible design, anytime I can get a 2-for-1 deal, I'm in! I knotted my shirt in the corner to keep it close to my body during down dogs in yoga, but I have it shown laying normally down below.
I seriously apologize for these makeup free/bathroom (trash needs to be emptied) pictures! I was trying to get this review out before the weekend and I'm sure as this photo was being taken Jos was somewhere causing mischief! No rest for this mama!!
The capris I am wearing are the Salar Capri - which I immediately fell in love with how soft they felt. These are absolutely comparable to the feel of Lululemon or Nike leggings for half the price, and have a great level of support and compression, as well as hidden pockets for ID and keys.
So I put them to the test! I wanted to see how their product stood up during a workout, so here I am heading into 108° of hot yoga, ready to sweat! I'll spare you the picture of me after (so. much. wet.) but lets get to the review!
Pryor Tank (full price $39.95) - I would give this tank a 4/5 stars. It moved so well with my body, and didn't cling despite all the sweat. I felt cool and comfortable in it, and would absolutely buy it in other colors in the future. I knocked a star off because esthetically there are some flaws, such as irregularities in the stitching and seams, nothing major but still slightly noticeable.
Salar Capri (full price $49.95) - I would also give these a 4/5 stars. I am so impressed with their quality and functionality. These honestly are the softest leggings I own, and I love the high waisted band. I felt comfortable and supported all throughout class and after wearing them all morning and to class I still notice no sign of stretching out. I knocked a star off because I miss the sweat wicking properties of Lulu and Nike - I felt pretty wet wearing these.
Overall, I would recommend Fabletics, but I would always prefer to shop in store (Mall of America for all of you Minnesota gals!) so that I can feel the fabrics before buying. While browsing last night, I couldn't help but notice that some of the pieces and fabrics felt rather cheap and not performance ready. There is absolutely still a window for these to be worn as everyday lounge and day to day pieces, but not perfect for working out. But overall, the price is right for the quality and it's a great way to stock up on pieces of activewear without breaking the bank. I also would recommend sizing down if you are on the fence for sizing. I wore a small in both the tank and capris, but I am very close to the XS and I am a standard size 4 for reference.
One last comment is on their mens wear. I am brand new to Fabletics, so I was unaware they carried mens clothing, but it's great! I picked up some shorts and top for Matthew (who wears Lululemon 75% of the time in OR outside of yoga) and he commented that everything ran a full size large, but was comfortable and attractive.
Hope you enjoyed the review! Have you tried Fabletics - what did you think?! I'd love to hear! And have a wonderful weekend everyone!
