I mentioned around Thanksgiving time that I had taken the plunge and ordered some of Living Proof's 'Perfect Hair Day' shampoo and conditioner to test out while they were running a black friday sale. I've never been one to spend much on shampoo or conditioner, but after hearing their promise that hair stays cleaner, longer - I was intrigued.
I'm a mom of two, I'm lazy, and more than anything I just don't like washing and styling my hair that much. Just ask my mother, I have NEVER been one who likes to shower every day, or any day. What can I say, washing my hair more than 2-3 times a week just sounds unreasonable to me. So I'm always on the hunt for products that enable this behavior.
With all the newborn spit up and general grossness that comes with having a baby, I've been showering a lot more than normal lately. But when we headed to NYC last weekend, I washed my hair the afternoon before we left (Thursday), had a pep-talk with Madeline about keeping her milk down and decided to test out how this shampoo and conditioner would last throughout the trip!
Here is me day 1, fresh and clean locks. Overall I feel like Living Proof PhD products really delivers on their promise of a deep clean. My hair always feels very fresh and full of volume after a new wash. I don't color my hair, but I have noticed that my hair has a nice shine and depth of color while using their products.
Day 2 - Possibly even better hair than day 1
Day 3 - It's starting to lose volume, but still lookin' good! And P.s. I swear these are different days, I just pack VERY light and wore pretty much the same thing everyday :)
Day 4 - Still absolutely safe to go out in public with! And no dry shampoo was used in the taking of these photos. The biggest difference I noticed from day 1 to day 4 is volume. My hair didn't feel too greasy (which is amazing) but it did feel flat. I found myself fluffing it up and changing my part often to add a little umph back into it. Still - at no point did I consider washing it, or even need to add dry shampoo. I was VERY impressed.
Would I recommend these products? Hell YES. If you're lazy like me and hate washing/styling your hair - or if you're just looking to switch things up and try a new product, test PhD out for yourself! The price tag is a little steep for a shampoo and conditioner, but I feel it makes up for it in less washes. Their website also offers small tester sized bottles just incase you want to test things out for a few bucks before buying a whole bottle! I hope you enjoyed the review!
