It all started last weekend with a trip to the apple orchard, one of my favorite fall traditions! Picking apples as a family while enjoying the fall colors is one of my favorite things about living in Minnesota! The weather is perfect! Temperatures are starting to dip down a little lower, the leaves are changing, all while the sun shines above. I LOVE fall!
We headed to Fall Harvest Apple Orchard in Delano, and for any Minnesota readers I highly recommend it! Much better than other orchards in the area. We road the tractor ride, played in the pumpkin patch, Josie pet ALL the animals, and picked our apples!
Once home I went apple CRAZY! We had two huge bags full, and I was excited to try some new recipes. One of my favorite (and by far the easiest) I tried was apple chips! Josie loves them, and I'm a happy mom anytime I can make her a healthy snack that tastes like a treat!
Maddie's 'Cutest Pumpkin' set
2 medium sized apples (per cooking sheet)
1 TBSP Sugar (optional - I skipped it on most of the pans I made for Josie and she never noticed)
Cinnamon to taste (I used around 2 tsp)
Preheat Oven to 250. Slice apples approximately 1/4 inch thick and arrange on covered baking sheet, mix sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle evenly over apples. Bake for 45 mins - 1 hr, flipping apples half way through baking. The apples should feel dried and start curling up at the edges when done. Store in an airtight container and enjoy!
