This weekend was jam-packed with fun, candy, and lots of smiles!
We started off early Friday morning throwing our Minnie costume on yet again, and heading out to song and story time at the Library! Jos has now figured out that when she wears her costume, everyone smiles and oooh's and ahh's at her. So every morning lately she points to it and says "Minnie!!" when we're getting dressed (and who am I to say no?!)
Songs were sang, books were read (by me, Josie ignored them and went for the toys) and overall a lot of fun was had. After a long nap, we took a trip to visit my Mom at work and show Minnie off to everyone!
Everyone had so much fun, I always love visiting with all of my Mother's co-workers. I have been bringing Josie in to visit occasionally since she was just a couple weeks old, so it's always fun showing everyone how much she has grown! This time it seemed like every office and cube had a new fun toy for her to play with or chase after. We stayed for a couple hours, distracting everyone from getting their Friday work done :)
Friday night was a busy one, I stopped over at a friends house who was hosting a fun girls night! I think most new moms (or mothers in general) can relate to the feeling of missing out on so much silly girl time you used to enjoy pre-baby. I absolutely love my life and wouldn't change it for anything, but times are definitely fewer and far between when I get to spend time alone with my girlfriends - sans baby. It was great to catch up for awhile, laugh and eat :) I then met Matthew later and we finished off the night with a late dinner at Crave before heading home.
Saturday started early, as usual with us heading to Isles Buns & Coffee for some sweets. You might notice something different in this picture above - I posted recently on instagram that we received our new double stroller, the Bugaboo Donkey Duo in the mail. We have been using the Bugaboo Cameleon since Josie was born, and after all the travel and miles we have put on it, we are both so pleased with it's handling and reliability. So when it came time for a double stroller, we wanted to stick within the Bugaboo family. This is the stroller in its 'mono' form, to make it a double stroller it takes a few clicks, and you pop the extra seat on right next to hers.
We found this one nearly brand new on eBay, including so many extras, it was a steal! The fabric that came with for each seat and the foot muff's are pink and blue - so it looks like we need to have a boy this time! The foot muff Josie has on is filled with down, and warm as can be! Perfect for this Saturday morning when it was lightly raining and gross out - I wished I could jump in!
The cinnamon roll, coffee cake and baked oatmeal made walking in the rain more tolerable :)
After a quick run to Target and then some fun at the park - Halloween was here! I'm not sure exactly what she thought was about to happen, but someone sure was excited to carry around her pumpkin basket!
Horrible picture quality, but here was us before we left for our trick-or-treating adventure!
The first house was a little rocky (someone didn't want to get out of her wagon!) but after that Josie started to love trick-or-treating, just like the big kids we saw! She frequently took piece after piece and then proceeded to gently push their doors closed as she said goodbye and moved on - LOL. Once we got home, she plopped down on the kitchen floor and began examining her treasure. For someone who has never tasted candy before, she sure knew she wanted them!
Lol, her face when I told her it was bedtime! Taking the costume off and the pumpkin away involved lots of real tears and screaming - poor Minnie!
The next morning all was forgotten and we enjoyed an extra hour of sleep with daylights savings - JK! If you can figure out how to explain 'sleeping in' to a toddler, please let me know...
But we enjoyed a morning filled with an extra snuggly and cuddly Josie, who was just filled with love yesterday. When those days come along I just savor every second!
She crawled up into my lap while I was on the couch, snuggled into me and we read story after story together! Perfect lazy Sunday together!
Here is just a sneak peek - Josie and I were contacted by photographer Beth Wiggins from Beth W Photography a couple weeks ago about a Mother/daughter maternity photoshoot. She has recently expanded her business into Maternity photography and wanted some test models to shoot with. Josie looked so adorable in the little gowns Beth had her wear, I snuck a quick picture! Stay tuned for more photos!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and fun filled Halloween - thanks for stopping by and reading!
