Weekend Wrap-up!
32 weeks in and I am officially nesting HARD! This weekend was all about babies, babies and a baby shower - and I loved every minute of it!
It really is amazing how quickly the time flies when you're busy running around with another little one. I remember planning for Josie's nursery, it was so much fun and I never felt rushed because I worked on it for months. This time around I have been so busy, I just started! I've spent the last couple weeks browsing Pinterest, and now am just ready to make final decisions and get it done!
Here is Josie's beautiful princess nursery that I loved creating! The crib, window drapery, bedding linens and plush lamb chair are all from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child. The basinet is custom made from Oh Baby! and the glider and butterfly mobile are from Pottery Barn Kids.
So we headed over to the Galleria and ended up walking away with nearly everything purchased for Josie's room and the new baby! Success! I posted recently about some of my inspiration for the new rooms, and I am so excited seeing them come to life! I cannot wait until everything arrives!
I love bringing Josie to Pottery Barn Kids to see her interacting with all of the fun toys and furniture pieces they have! Lately I have not been able to tear her away form this table and chairs set! Pictured above was her the last time we went! She kept bringing over toys to play with and books to read - looks like someone may have a happy surprise waiting for her come Christmas morning :)
She loved looking at all the decorations set up at the Galleria for the holidays - her favorite was definitely the enormous shiny christmas tree in the center! After a few attempts at climbing it, I had to pry someone away.
I know it's a little early, but I just cannot get enough of how adorable she looks in her little holiday sweaters (and those curls!) I could not find this one anywhere online to link to, but it's Lucky Brand kids. Josie is OBSESSED with it because it is so soft and fuzzy, I'm obsessed with the cuteness!
The remainder of my Friday was spent enjoying a long awaited date night with Matthew! Between being in Chicago last weekend with Josie and how much he has been working to finish up his mothers condo, we have been missing each other so much! We had a delicious dinner eating entirely too much deep dish pizza and pasta at Mozza Mia and then saw the movie Room across the street. Room was a fantastic movie, but horrible to see while pregnant. I literally cried almost the entire time...not the best for setting the mood on date night lol.
Saturday was filled with organizing and rearranging! Josie had fun playing in the new baby's bassinet while watching me go through all of her little clothes I have saved from the last year! I got everything packed away in labeled boxes so that it is organized by size in case we do have another girl! See I told you, power nesting going on!
We also set up an awesome little play gym area in the basement for Josie, now that it is starting to get too cold to go to the park as much. We still go everyday, but once the snow comes it will be great for her to have a fun area to run around in at home! I'll post pictures of it once it is finished.
The rest of my Saturday was spent baking, making tissue pom poms and cleaning the house for the baby shower I hosted for my friend Rachel on Sunday!
We had such a wonderful time playing games, opening presents, eating and chatting! I was so happy to host such a fun party honoring my friend and her soon to be baby boy! The middle three of us in this picture are all pregnant and due between January and February, so it will be so much fun once we all have our little ones!
When I had Josie I was the only one of my friends to have a baby, so I feel so blessed to have so many other friends pregnant right now to share in the experience with! It will be so much fun come spring when our little babies will be rolling around on blankets together!
Whew, another weekend gone! This holiday season is so booked already I cannot even believe how fast it is moving! The next few weekend updates should be fun, sharing with you so many exciting new things coming in our lives! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!
Thanks for reading! Xoxo Colleen
