Whew, the weekends are really flying by lately!
This Friday we sadly needed to skip our weekly song and story time at the library and instead head to the doctors for Josie's 15 month check up! The bad news was, she needed 4 shots and her fingers poked for blood - but the good news was hearing how wonderful her development is coming along!
I am absolutely in love with our pediatrics office (we use Park Nicollet). The appointments are so much more than simply checking her height/weight and scheduling the next visit in three months. Our Pediatrician sits and watches her play, engages with her, and really takes the time to get to know Josie!
As a mother I think we all tend to see our children as amazing and advanced, I know I am no exception! But it was great hearing from the doctor how wonderful she is doing - her greatest advance is her vocabulary!
So far her words are mama, dada, papa, nana, up, down, no, thanks, hi, bye-bye, apple, cheese, shoes, socks, car, train, dog, more, ball, cup, dance, fruit, good, girl, bunny, hop-hop, soup, hot, cold, yum-yum, snack, book, sit, wa-wa, (and her French words, un, deux and le pauvre) - It's so amazing hearing a new word everyday!
Along with this development is coming the serious development of her toddler-like tantrums. Oh. MY. GOD. Is this girl getting dramatic! I'd be lying if I pretended like this doesn't make me a little nervous for when baby #2 comes along!
Saturday started with our weekly early-morning family walk up to Isles Buns & Coffee - if you live in Minneapolis and have never been before, go! The weather is finally starting to feel like a typical Minnesota fall, so we're really enjoying the last couple of weeks we have left where we can walk together and have breakfast outside as a family!
I look enormous in this photo due to the angle I'm standing at, but I love it regardless! This is exactly why I love walking this time of year - the colors are incredible!
The rest of our Saturday was filled with fun. Josie and I were invited to a children's Halloween party at a friends house! We brought our little mummy and frankenstein wafer cookies, and had a blast!
There were games, crafts, dancing and best of all - no tears! Everyone had a great time, and I loved being in a mostly childproof house where I could let her run around with friends without worry! It was so adorable seeing all the kids dressed up, in the picture above there is a skeleton, Anakin Skywalker, a dinosaur and my little Minnie! So glad we could all get together - thanks Kelsey for hosting us!
Our Sunday was very laid back after all the fun we had Saturday! Matthew has been working hard renovating his Mother's condo, so while he was laying hardwood floor and tiling bathrooms, Josie and I hung around the house. My parents came over for a bit and played round after round of peek-a-boo and read lots of stories - Jos loves her Grandparents!
And finally, a silly picture - but man does that expression capture how I feel! I am getting BIG, 29 weeks in, and man am I happy the holidays will make these next couple months fly by, because the end of pregnancy is no easy feat! (Nor is putting on/removing shoes and boots!!)
Hope you had a wonderful weekend, thanks for reading!
