Breezy Summer Look

During the summer, I'm always looking for easy and lightweight pieces which pair easily together. Outfits where I can look chic while out running errands and shopping, or running around the park with my kids. So ever since I found this adorable off the shoulder top from Mango, it's been one of my go-to looks for these hot August days!

Outfit Details

Top (Mango) Shorts (Current/Elliot, Similar look for less) Shoes (Joie, Similar) Hat (Purchased on vacation, Similar) Sunglasses (Fendi, Similar look for less) Handbag (Celine, Similar look for less)

I love how cute and flirty the ruffles look, and how feminine and simple the design is. The perfect summer look! I'm wearing a size 4 in the top, and 25 in the shorts for reference.

I hope you're staying cool and enjoying the warm weather!

We're in Paris - Week Deux!

We're home, and while the trip was unbelievable, there is nothing like the dreamy feeling of reuniting with your own bed :)

I have so many photos to share that I am going to continue breaking these posts up by weeks so that you can get a feel for how we spent out 4 weeks in France! Week two started off with a move from Montmartre into the heart of Paris, the 1st arrondissement!

As August approached, we were in peak tourist time for Paris. Nearly everyone in Paris (aside from workers in the tourism or service industry) gets the entire month of August off from work to travel and vacation. As we started our trip in early July, we could feel week by week the transformation of the city from mostly Parisians to more and more tourists! Suddenly my nike's stood out much less :)

We stayed in the same apartment we found last year, which is right on Ave De L'Opera near the Louvre, Tuileries gardens and the Opera House! It is such a gorgeous apartment, located in a classic Haussmann building. During our second week here, Matthew and went on tours of many apartments all over Paris and learned so much about how the city of Paris was constructed. If your interested in architecture, I recommend reading about Haussmann and his renovation of Paris in the 1800's!

My sweet sweet little girls!! Madeline has changed so much on this trip it is amazing!! She spruted teeth, has started slowly crawling and is just the biggest sweetheart ever! Josie has just been having the greatest time exploring! As a natural adventurer, so takes to new environments very well and is curious about everything! She spends her days running around the parks, trying new food and making new friends!

On my second day after arriving in the 1st arrondissement, I was wondering around, turned a corner and found myself walking towards the gorgeous Place Vendôme! Exploring Paris is truly a magical experience. From the gorgeous buildings, to the larger than life statues and monuments, its an incredible city.

The most gorgeous Opera house I've ever seen! I can only imagine how incredible it would be to witness an Opera live in such stunning fashion!

Parisian flee markets are the best! I spent hours on Sunday exploring a large flee market near our apartment. Endless tables of pictures, vases, furniture, jewelry and clothes. Good thing I have very little room in our suitcases to bring things home, or I think I would have gone crazy!

We had a wonderful time exploring Luxembourg Gardens! The vibrant pink flowers and palm trees give the feeling of a tropical paradise amidst the sprawling city. The perfectly manicured lawns and gravel paved rows of trees make the gardens in Paris truly unique to the city. I could walk around the gardens of Paris for hours, the rows of trees are the perfect place to spend some quiet time alone. While the lawns are the best for sitting on a blanket and enjoying some bread, cheese and wine with friends!

Checking out our wedding venue 2 weeks before the big day! You may have seen on Instagram or Snapchat some photos from our wedding - I am planing on creating a large post dedicated to wedding photos once we have our professional photos back, but until there there are a few floating around!

Each time I come to Paris I try to explore a new part of the Louvre museum! It is so unbelievably vast, I could literally spend weeks, if not months, roaming the halls and rooms. I've never seen a museum where the building itself rivals the art inside. The architecture is incredible, and it truly is the greatest museum in the world.

I love sharing our pictures with all of you! This trip has been the most magical experience of my life and I am so happy to take everyone along with me on Touch of Curl!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale - My Picks!

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale really has something in it for everyone, and with so many items on sale it can feel overwhelming searching through hundreds of pages to find the diamonds in the rough. In case you missed it, yesterday I created a round up of my favorite under $100 trend picks. Today I wanted to show you what is in my shopping bag, along with repeat anniversary items which I purchased in the past and absolutely love!

1. Paige 'Mya' Plaid Shirt - Easy, comfortable and can be styled with all of the boots and pant combinations below to create different looks. Perfect everyday wear, the type of shirt you will turn to over and over again in the fall.

2. Ralph Lauren Faux Leather Trim Trench Coat - Also available in black. A great chic trench coat is an essential part of a working uniform. I love the detailing on this piece, and it's at a great price point.

3. Frame 'Le Ruffle' Sleeveless Silk Blouse - Also available in white. But really, this gorgeous shade of blood orange is where it's at! Sleeveless silk blouses and white pants are always my go-to in summer when I'm looking for an easy and chic look - this would hit the mark perfectly!

4. Current/Elliot Cheetah Print Cotton Tee - Oh how I love Current/Elliot tees and tanks! They create that perfect elusive drape and always have expert tailoring that justifies the splurge on even simple tees. I also love animal print in small doses (ok maybe big doses too). Catch me pairing this tee with all 3 bottom combinations this fall.

5. Sea Lace TrimCotton Peplum Top - No one does embroidery like Sea. The details on this top add the perfect touch to a beautiful summer piece which turns any outfit into a perfectly chic ensemble. Expensive, yes. But also timeless.

6. Joie 'Avery' Crisscross Black Heel Sandal - I love the heel, the color of the leather, the crisscross, Joie gets me every time! Such a beautiful heel.

7. Stuart Weitzman 'Perfection' Bootie - Also available in black, currant and slate. This is a ankle version of the famed highland boot and I've heard GREAT things about them. I have the highland and it's amazing how comfortable they are. I have not tried these on, but I want them in this taupe shade for fall!

8. Paige 'Verdugo' Skinny Jeans - I've been a fan of the Verdugo style for years, and this color will provide you will endless outfit combinations come fall.

9. AG 'The Legging' Ankle Skinny Jean - The perfect super skinny jean, which doesn't look too much like leggings. These are made of ultra soft denim and are selling fast - so grab a pair asap if you can!

10. Vince Stretch Cotton Boyfriend Trousers - Walking around Paris nearly every truly chic and effortless outfit involves a combination of these pants and a draping silk blouse. It's the perfect look for transitioning from summer to fall!

11. Via Spiga 'Finlay' Over The Knee Boot - Also available in black. These are gorgeous and last year while doing my over the knee boot round up, I read SO MANY positive reviews on these.

12. Aquatalia 'Olita' Weatherproof Riding Boot - Also available in Espresso. Admittedly these are a bit of a splurge - but I bought these 3 anniversary sales ago and they are a life saver! I'm not a Sorel boot person, I like my winter boots to be sleek and chic. Which is exactly what I found in these. They're not kidding when they say 'winterproof', I've worn the through the thickest of snow each winter and I will gladly pull them out once November hits! I own the black.

13. Living Proof PhD Set - Have you read my Living Proof PhD review? Read that and then buy this! Oh and ps, their dry shampoo was designed my scientist at MIT, they're not messing around with haircare.

14. Nike 'Juvenate' Sneaker - I never travel without my Nike's, and they're on my feet at least 50% of the time when I'm with the kids. I'm normally a huge fan of the fly knits, but this rose pattern made me swoon :)

What are you favorite items from the sale? Every year it seems I find a few that I cannot do without! I hope you enjoyed my picks! Happy Shopping!!
